Central State Hospital is recruiting for a Music Therapist. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: completion of treatment team functions including completion of client assessments, formulation of treatment plans including treatment objectives and interventions, the development and implementation of quality music therapy services for adult patients, ranging in age from 18 to 65 years old as well as conducting evening, weekend and holiday leisure services.

Services provided are therapeutic, goal oriented and directed toward rehabilitation and/or modification of specific mental, physical or social behaviors, as directed by the treatment plan. Additional duties will include (but are not limited to): operating a state vehicle, participating in special unit activities , department and hospital activities, and utilizing Recovery and TOVA techniques with clients.

Minimum Qualifications
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

Qualified candidates must have a Music Therapy Degree (graduate or undergraduate) from an accredited school. Work/internship in Music Therapy under a Board Certified Music Therapist, experience dealing with various types of mental and physical disorders. Experience in evaluating, establishing treatment intervention and assessing effectiveness of treatment interventions is also required.

Candidates should also be Board certified or complete certification within 1 year of hire.

Valid driver’s license is required.

Candidates must be able to work irregular work week and hours when necessary.

Occasionally conducting evening, weekend and holiday leisure services.
