This position can be based out of Des Moines, Spencer, Algona, or our Cedar Rapids office location.

What you will be doing:

• Delineate wetlands and prepare delineation and mitigation plans as required.
• Conduct on-site and off-site wetland delineations using Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) 1987 manual guidelines.
• Prepare reports detailing the findings of the investigation, completing the Corps and Wetland Conservation Act (WCA) Joint application as required.
• Assist in design, permitting, and monitoring of habitat restorations.
• Research and prepare environmental assessments and permitting documents as needed or required.
• Prepare the Joint Application, as well as the MNDNR MPARS application, for proposed aquatic resource impacts for various projects as assigned.
• Work with GIS, mapping and related databases.

What we are looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental or Soil Science or equivalent from an accredited college or university
• Two-five years’ experience in wetland and aquatic resource delineations
• Certified Wetland Delineator through the MNWPCP
• Working knowledge of applicable laws including the WCA and Section 404 of the CWA
• Effective interpersonal written & verbal communication skills
• Strong time management, organizational and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Thorough knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite. (MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint)
• Effective knowledge and skills in ArcGIS
• Possess a valid driver’s license as travel to various facilities and job sites may be required
• Willing to travel and spend overnights to assist in other Bolton & Menk, Inc. regions
