DESCRIPTION

Decypher is seeking an Network Administration Support Services Associate to support George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies (GCMC) Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide the operation, troubleshooting, restoration, configuration, installation, and security of the Government-provided wireless access points, wireless control systems, and associated devices to maximize uptime at 99% availability or higher during core business hours.
  • Conducts site surveys for potential new wireless service locations, make recommendations for proper placement and security of all wireless access points, their configurations, and connectivity and proposes or recommends best practices for their installation and integration to the Government.
  • Provides wireless technical assistance to the GCMC Information Assurance Team for detection, protection, and recovery of computer incidents. The Contractor shall analyze potential intrusions, verify wireless network and systems configuration profiles, manage day-to-day operations and maintain intrusion detection systems, firewall systems, and perform technical wireless vulnerability studies.
  • Assists with monitoring and maintaining the applicable portions of the GCMC wireless security systems required to detect network attacks and to prevent successful intrusion.
  • Shall be fully trained in CISCO Identity Service Engine (ISE) and Cisco WLC operation and monitoring. Manage the CISCO Wireless LAN Controller (WLC) rules and requirements, monitor and troubleshoot CISCO ISE for anomalies and security events, take action to prevent unauthorized events from occurring. Advise on alternatives and solutions needed to increase the Wireless security posture and will implement the solutions upon direction from the COR and Network Administration Team lead.
  • When notified that a potential security breach, attack or anomalous events have occurred or are taking place, the Contractor shall recommend appropriate actions or security improvements for approval by the COR. Firewall configuration and security rules will be the responsibility of the Government. However, the Contractor shall recommend on a continual basis any appropriate security improvements.
  • Monitors and manages the GCMC WLAN infrastructure and the weekly CISCO WLC reports. The GCMC Information Assurance Team will generate the reports; however, the Contractor shall identify anomalous events, correlate them with other system event logs, and recommend best security alternatives and solutions to the COR (or Network Administration Team lead) on a continual basis.
  • Monitors and manages the GCMC WLAN. The Contractor shall track, configure, generate, and interpret location and event notifications as well as recommend best security alternatives and solutions to the COR (or Government).
  • Coordinates with the GCMC Information Assurance Team for all wireless security issues related to attacks or anomalous events related to the GCMC WLAN, both from internal and external sources, until the incident is resolved.
  • Responds to wireless network and/or system breaches (actual or attempted intrusion, computer viruses, worms, Trojan horses, etc.). The Contractor shall coordinate actions to resolve wireless network security problems. The Contractor shall recognize wireless security breaches and take appropriate action to identify and thwart intruders.
  • Installs, configures, and integrates replacement or follow-on wireless control systems, wireless intrusion detection systems, or other wireless management or security provisioning systems.
  • Physically deploys, relocates and/or replaces IT equipment. This may require an individual Contractor to lift equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Provides support services to assist with GCMC wired network.
  • Provides Tier 2 support to the Help Desk for any Network Administration tasks.

Requirements

  • IAT II Security+ Certification

  • CCNA Certification (within 30 days of commencement of service)
