Network Administrator (Level 2)
The network administrator level 2 performs duties on-site at Goodfellow, Air Force Base, Texas. Assist with installs of network switch and cabling infrastructure. Works with customers to aid with installation and troubleshooting needs. Provides installation support activities for equipment and office relocations. Performs testing, troubleshoots, and corrects problems relative to interoperability of network device components such as hardware, software, and applications programs to include security and software patches. Knowledgeable in CISCO command structure, switching, routing, Aruba wireless, 802.1x and firewall experience. Develops and maintains network administration standard operating procedures, technical guides, and instructions.
Specific Duties:
- Perform testing, troubleshoot, and correct problems relative to interoperability of network device components such as hardware, software, and applications programs to include security and software patches.
- Respond to service outages, assisting with repair action.
- Diagnose network infrastructure hardware failures to resolution.
- Perform hardware repair on identified network hardware.
- Develop and maintain network administration standard operating procedures, technical guides, and instructions.
- Coordinates authorized service interruptions and outages with affected customers
- Respond to unexpected or unauthorized service interruptions and outages
- Diagnose software and hardware failures to resolution
- Implement and ensure security preventive measures are fully functioning
- Monitor and enhance system performance
- Provide periodic audit of inventories to mitigate risk of damage or theft.
- Configure/maintain network infrastructure components
- Perform site surveys to accommodate new technology requirements
- Participate in the integration (planning, testing, and implementation) of new technologies
- Possess a valid, current TS/SCI clearance prior to start of work
- Have at least three years’ experience as network administrator
- Possess at least one of the following IT certifications: CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security +CE, CND and SSCP
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
Have a minimum of three years’ experience in at least two of the following applications:
- Cisco or similar technology
- Palo Alto or similar technology
- Aruba or similar wireless technology
- SolarWinds or similar technology
- Switch/Router Configuration/Management
- Firewall Management (i.e., Palo Alto)
- TCP/IP Knowledge
- DNS/DHCP Knowledge
- Certificate Authority Knowledge
- Cable Fabrication/ Installation (i.e., Copper/Fiber)
- Port Security/802.1x Knowledge
- Network STIGs
- TACLANE Management
- TACACS/Radius Experience
