Summary

Penguin Solutions a subsidiary of SMART Global Holdings (SGH), is looking fo a Network Engineer

Penguin Solutions is seeking a knowledgeable, talented, and industrious network engineer who will ensure the maximum performance of the cluster solution.

The position is within the Product Management department Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate for the position is agreeable, helpful, and efficient as well as having in- depth knowledge of networks with a focus on high-level design and planning

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design the network infrastructure with Solution Architect for the customer
  • Develop the networking configuration with Cluster Engineering and Professional Service team.
  • Validate and troubleshoot networking problem at pre-sales
  • Maintains meticulous documentation for internal / external build instructions (configuration examples).
  • Provide Level-2 support with technical support team on product
  • Work with Product Engineers on product validation
  • Liaise with vendors and other personnel for problem resolution
  • Pro-actively engage in learning, researching, and training on new technologies

Experience/Education

  • 4-year Bachelor’s degree preferably in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Previous experience in IT, security or systems support, or network administrator positions preferred.
  • Network certifications preferred, such as
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)
  • CompTIA Network+
  • CCIE and/or CISSP highly valued
  • Familiarity with various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
  • Solid understanding of OSI or TCP/IP model, networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, BGP, OSPF, QoS).
  • Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving
  • Familiar with Data Center and HPC application is a
  • Familiar with Linux-based operating systems and CLI interfaces is a plus.
  • Project management skills and able to manage multiple threads/projects

Pay: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
