Why LVT:

Based in Utah, LVT is the world's leading platform-as-a-service (PaaS) provider in mobile security utilizing cameras and other data collection systems designed primarily to be used in areas where power and broadband Internet services are not easily available. As a full-service provider, we make it easy for public and private entities to stream live video, aggregated with sensor data, from anywhere on Earth. We bring to the industry the only PaaS solution that has low power consumption, low data consumption, a low cost of ownership, is easy to use, and is secure. We provide an end-to-end service; from hardware to software; including proprietary design, engineering, fabrication, installation, maintenance, and repair, with web-enabled interfaces and mobile apps.

We’re a profitable company with a massive growth trajectory. To keep up with our explosive demand, we need more self-motivated, innovative go-getters in every department.

If you’re excited about contributing to a high-growth company that has a strong foundation and an employee stock option program where you can make a meaningful impact, LVT is the place for you!

Role Description

The individual units we provide to our customers consist of any combination of modems, routers, wireless bridges, our proprietary Linux-powered edge controller, IP cameras, IP speakers, and a supporting wind or solar power source. As a Network Support Specialist, you will work on a small team of high-performing individuals troubleshooting these components involving firmware and configuration changes, networking, and Linux. With the assistance of charts, log files, trouble tickets, internal documentation, and other data, you will use your technical troubleshooting skills to identify each problem, determine the root cause, and correct it. In cases when you are unable to come to a resolution on your own, you will consult with our subject matter experts to determine the fix.

You will report to our Support Manager and be based out of our office in Orem, UT. While working in the office is preferred for increased collaboration with your coworkers, we are willing to consider a hybrid work schedule for those who can prove it doesn’t have a negative impact on their performance.

  • Thoroughly document your troubleshooting process including all actions taken and their results as you work towards a resolution
  • Maximize your effectiveness by resolving a high percentage of incoming requests, only escalating to SMEs, or requesting field support when necessary

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Troubleshoot networking issues using your knowledge of the Internet Protocol Suite including DHCP, DNS, HTTP(S), ICMP, IPv4, IPv6, MAC, NAT, NTP, RTSP, SIP, SSH, TCP, and UDP
  • Troubleshoot cellular modems and wireless point-to-point radios
  • Use the Linux CLI to evaluate system resources, search through log files, edit configuration files, and restart services
  • Write and speak English in a professional manner and collaborate well with others
  • CompTIA Network+ certification required
