We are seeking a full time Network Support Specialist to join the Network Administration department at our Corporate office located at 2290 N Mayfair Road, Wauwatosa, WI 53226. This position works Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm and will play a direct role in maintenance, technical support, and administration of the Bank’s IT infrastructure and systems applications. The ability to work additional hours may occasionally be required depending upon department needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Field branch calls, assisting end-users with service/troubleshooting including travel to branch to replace/repair equipment such as PC’s, laptops, servers, monitors, printers, scanners or any networking equipment.
- Use remote session software to help end-users as needed.
- Reset passwords for users who have locked themselves out.
- Re-install or upgrade software as required.
- Assist users with printing problems.
- Initiate calls to various vendors for technical support to resolve problems/issues involving their software/applications.
- Assist end users with their software/application platform. Consulting with the vendor and/or staff members for resolution.
- Manage the patching/updating of Microsoft operating systems (server and client).
- Manage the patching/updating of various Bank/Departmental software/applications.
- Update or create documentation regarding of the various procedures, software/applications within the organization.
- Perform backups (daily/weekly). Assist the Network Administrator with this job function as either the backup operator (including restores) or as a log reviewer.
- Proactively perform server maintenance on a weekly basis, or as needed, as a preventive measure to avoid network downtime.
- Assist the Network Administrator with the testing and installation of network products. Including, but not limited to, servers, switches, routers, firewalls, printers, and application-specific appliances.
- Evaluate new software/application and hardware products as the Bank’s needs arise.
- Able to carry or lift computer/networking equipment (40 pounds)
- Occasionally may be required to carry or lift IT equipment weighing up to 150 pounds (team lift).
- May need to respond to technical emergencies, which may occur on weekends, in the evening, or after business hours, based on urgency or operational needs.
- Assist in additional areas within the IT department or Bank, as needed.
Job Skills Requirements:
- Training in the maintenance of a Microsoft Active Directory Network, including knowledge/troubleshooting of Microsoft Windows Servers/Clients, Active Directory and SQL.
- Minor scripting or programing knowledge. Minor database administration is a plus.
- Knowledge of virtualization software.
- 2-4 years previous IT experience.
- Able to work within a high regulated environment, while exemplifying a security minded practice.
- Valid driver’s license.
- College degree preferred; 2- year or 4-year with an emphasis on computer networking. Microsoft, or other, certifications in the aforementioned systems are a plus. Continuing education as needed.
