This is a Salem Housing Authority position, which is a separate employer from the City of Salem.

You will be assigned to work with the latest hardware and software technologies in testing, configuring, deploying, and supporting servers, computers, mobile devices, printers, and a plethora of software and peripherals across our computer infrastructure.
What you will do:
Help trouble shoot and repair, document, train, and communicate with all levels of business through phone support, email, on-site visit, and electronic connectivity.- Research, test, and solve functional problems, improve business processes, and help the Salem Housing Authority continuously upgrade technology as it continues to evolve.
- Maintain, diagnose and/or repair the following infrastructure: Cisco network, VMWare virtual server, hardware, peripheral hardware, printers, Windows OS and general software, and Windows Server administration including Active Directory, Internet Information Services, and Structured Query Language (SQL).
- Work with 3rd party vendors to assist in the support or repair of systems.
- Strong ability to focus on proactive customer support, root cause identification, and improving the technological landscape for employees with request.
- Knowledge of computer hardware and peripherals and their function.
- Knowledge of structured Query Language (SQL) and writing commands to achieve a goal.
- Knowledge of Enterprise network infrastructure industry standards
- Experience diagnosing basic printer functions.

- Must pass the pre-employment background check.
- Must pass criminal background check necessary to obtain Criminal Justice Information System clearance and Law Enforcement Data System certification within 30 days of hire (clearance must be maintained throughout employment).
- Two years of college level course work in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related program area, and two years of personal computer maintenance and installation experience in a network environment; or any combination of experience and training that demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skill and abilities as listed, and ability to perform the examples of work.

The Urban Renewal Agency and the Salem Housing Authority are separate municipal corporations. The Agency contracts with the City for services and the Authority is led by the Housing Administrator within the Urban Development department.
