Role Summary: This job is responsible for maintaining operational control of packing duties, personnel and various CTP facility functions.

Leadership Responsibilities:

· Serve as a Change Agent and quality hiring advocate.

· Supervises team by providing coaching, performance management, and ensuring compliance with appropriate laws and practices and requests for information.

· Ensures excellent customer service is provided to employees, applicants, managers, and other community members.

· Completes performance evaluation plan (PEP) on employees in a timely and constructive manner.

· Works with management to understand current and future needs and develops process improvement plans.

· Participates in intra-departmental and inter-departmental efforts for continuous safety, quality, and productivity improvement.

· Designs methods for continuous improvement in the delivery of services by soliciting internal and external feedback, using best practice models and organizational goals.

· Provides counsel to management team on policies and practices regarding employment issues.

· Strategic planning, continuous improvement innovation, directs team to achieve goals and objectives

· Prepares budgets, develops business plans, identify opportunities for improving budgets

· Promotes and completes required training.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

· Constant monitoring of production speed and quality to meet packing and quality goals

· Supervise the training of employees

· Assist with programing and operating sizer computers

· Maintain payroll time cards and other records including cost accounting information

· Work with sales on packing needs; communicate with fieldmen and growers

· Create and manage packing schedule and CA room openings week to week by working with sales, receiving and refrigeration

· Oversight of repacking/repackaging process

· Applicable supervisory responsibilities include; interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, planning, assigning and directing work, reviewing performance, appraising/disciplining employees when necessary

· Must be available for flexible hours, overtime and weekends

· Must adhere too and set the example pertaining to all company policies and programs

· Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience:

· 2-3 years’ experience/training in CTP and supervision

· Knowledge of grades, sizes, defects, packing requirements and procedures

· Knowledge of fruit industry

· Employee Safety and Food safety knowledge

· Regulatory compliance knowledge

Certificates & Licenses:

· First Aid card

Equipment/Technology Skills:

· Ability to operate and oversee packing equipment; sizer, defect/color sorter, pressure tester, scale, ORP, etc.

Physical Abilities:

· Ability to occasionally perform various activities that require; sitting, standing, walking, pulling/pushing objects, climbing, grasp & reach

· Ability to speak clearly & communicate with others

· Must have good vision, smell and hearing

· Ability to occasionally lift 40 lbs. from floor to waist level

· Intermediate ability in English to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization

· Basic mathematical ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent

· High reasoning ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Workplace Environmental Conditions:

· Ability to tolerate potential harsh weather conditions for short or long periods of time

· Exposed during a shift to constant or intermittent sounds at a level sufficient to cause hearing loss or fatigue

· Injury exposure to workplace hazards, warehousing machinery

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $90,000.00 per year
