Please note that individual total compensation for this position will be determined at the Company's sole discretion and the wage range for this role considers a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At SNAHC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $136,144.76-$184,195.85

Position Summary:

The Nurse Administrator reports to the Chief Clinical Officer and will oversee operations for a large, fast-paced medical practice within a Federally Qualified Health Center. The Nurse Administrator works collaboratively with clinical and support staff to ensure the smooth and efficient operations of the department to provide high quality patient care and to meet the goals and objectives established by the Health Center. The Nurse Administrator is responsible for directing, organizing, and supervising the work of their nursing staff, which typically includes registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), and Medical Assistants (MAs). They also coordinate nursing efforts to ensure that effective patient care is being provided and that quality standards are met.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides professional leadership and direction to the Medical Department including administrative supervision of medical staff. Serves as liaison between clinical and support staff within the Medical Department.
  • Creates and maintains policies and procedures that are aligned with the Health Center’s mission and accreditation standards.
  • Collaborates with Officers, Directors, Managers, and key stakeholders to ensure goals, objectives, and processes are aligned with the organization’s mission, accreditation standards, and strategic goals.
  • Maintains responsibility for the development, training, and oversight of medical department staff.
  • Oversees the hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of Medical Department staff.
  • Participates in and serves as leadership in the quality assurance/quality improvement program pursuant to National Accreditation requirements, as well as the agency’s quality assurance program.
  • Performs and coordinates Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement and peer review activities for the Health Center.
  • Leads and implements initiatives that support the organization’s AAAHC Accreditation and the Patient Centered Health Home (PCMH). Acts as a key stakeholder in AAAHC program and accreditation site audits.
  • Participates in community health services screening and outreach.
  • Acts as case management supervisor, provides guidance on best practices in care coordination, linking patients to resources, community resources and self-management tools.
  • Participates in budget planning for the Medical Department in conjunction with Fiscal and Administrative departments.
  • Communicate with medical plans and stakeholders to identify, manage, and achieve community health quality metrics.
  • Uses management tools to analyze financial, business, and operations reports to identify and address trends and performance issues.
  • Manages grant funding and submission of monthly grant reports.
  • Administers and oversees the Infection Control Plan in alignment with AAAHC and international infection control standards.
  • Complies with all state and federal laws and regulations, as they pertain to position including HIPAA, sexual harassment, scope of practice, OSHA, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Nursing and demonstrated administrative experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Graduated administrative program management, staff development, training, and empowerment
  • Experience with data collection, reporting, and analyzing required.
  • Superior knowledge of health home accreditation, licensing standards, and requirements.
  • Evidence of experience with EHR and ICD-10 training is required.
  • Ability to chart nurse visits comprehensively and complete E&M coding in compliance with medical coding standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Grant management experience
  • Understanding of patients with co-occurring health issues including, chronic conditions, mental health, and substance abuse
  • Experience with Nextgen or other electronic health record system
  • Experience in an FQHC setting
  • Experience with AAAHC accreditation and PCHH certification
  • Ability to work with other racially, culturally, ethnically, and financially diverse populations.
  • Bilingual
