Title: Nursing Faculty
Bargaining Unit/Salary Level:
Salary and benefits commensurate with the Agreement between the Maine Community College System Trustees and the MEA Faculty Unit.
Benefits include:
Retirement choice of Maine Public Employees Retirement System (MainePERS) or Teachers Insurance & Annuity Association College Retirement Equities Fund (TIAA-CREF) - in lieu of Social Security.
Full employee health/dental insurance and approximately 60% of cost for dependent coverage.
Life insurance paid by the MCCS.
Personal 2 days/year.
Sick 9 days/academic year.
Responsibilities:
The Nursing faculty responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Teaching and supervision of students in the Nursing program.
Student advising.
Participation in the program’s ongoing curriculum development and academic policies.
Involvement with ACEN accreditation.
Teaching didactic content and clinical and/or lab of associate-degree seeking nursing students while in clinical occurs each semester.
Participation in campus initiatives, such as accreditation and institutional assessment are expected.
Schedule may include teaching day, evening, weekend, and online classes.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Nursing.
Mental Health Nursing experience
Active, unencumbered RN License in the State of Maine or Compact State.
Current knowledge of nursing practice and/or health care.
Demonstrated experience in mental health preferred.
A minimum of one year of teaching experience, preferably at the college level.
Two years of recent clinical experience.
Possess a current driver’s license.
Meet clinical facility immunization requirements.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Expertise and knowledge of current nursing specialty areas.
Experience with simulation and computer-assisted instruction.
Ability to plan and organize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
Excellent knowledge of computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, and communicate effectively with individuals.
Excellent communication and presentation skills is a must.
