CHAIL is a youth, family, and community focused 501(c)(3) organization with multiple locations and 450 staff, located in Peoria, IL. About the position:
The ideal person for this position would be one who loves to work with kids and who has the ability to accept behavioral issues while working with medical problems. They will have a high level of patience and be able to physically manage client’s needs. This person will need to have a high level of communication skills and be able to demonstrate those in times of crisis. This person will need to work with many teams and demonstrate excellent problem solving skills and be able to work with a wide variety of medical service providers. The person must always have the child’s best interest at hand and be flexible in their services delivered.
JOB FUNCTION: Oversees and carries out health related services for clients in assigned programs. Oversees and supervises Residential/Foster Care/Kiefer nurses
QUALIFICATIONS:
- RN and graduate of NLN-approved program
- Active Illinois license
- Experience in general medical nursing, health education, pediatrics, physical assessment, and psychiatric nursing
- Basic understanding of psychiatric disorders and psychotropic medications
- High professional/ethical standards in care to clients, co-workers, and community health care providers
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to make presentations before groups
- Ability to work effectively in a team approach work setting
- Self-discipline to work independently
- Dependability
- Ability to handle job related matters in a professional, diplomatic and confidential manner
- Ability to see, read, hear, speak, and write to ensure effective communication of information
- Ability to transport self and clients to various locations
- Ability to physically restrain
- Physical and emotional stamina to effectively handle job related issues and stress
