Job Title: Haight Division - Sales Manager

Reports To: Haight Division – Director of Sales

HOURS: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm

SALARY: Varies per experience

SUMMARY

The Haight Division Sales Manager leads the sales efforts by adding and retaining new customers to achieve set revenue goals. The Sales Manager will introduce our products and have the ability to educate customers. This position requires someone with excellent communication skills. This position also requires someone who is self-motivated, goal oriented and extremely dependable. The ability to create and maintain on-going relationships is critical. A sense of confidence, along with being positive and friendly, are also extremely important. The Haight Division Sales Manager candidate must have the vision, drive, and interpersonal skills needed to succeed in a national sales position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop and execute the necessary strategies needed to seek out new opportunities with both OEM and distribution accounts.
  • Meet and sustain sales goals and objectives assigned by the Division Director of Sales and/or the President/CEO.
  • Must have the ability to prepare and maintain sales status reports that include activity, follow-up, closings, and adherence to targets.
  • Problem solving and handling customer/client concerns are a critical part of this role. Must be able to identify and resolve customer issues in a timely and efficient manner at a level that is satisfactory to the customer/client, while maintaining the integrity of the Company. Must maintain and nurture existing customer/client accounts.
  • This position is required to communicate new products and services, collect feedback, report special developments, or information collected during field activity to the appropriate and pertinent Company representatives.
  • Responsible for preparing schedules and action plans to identify particular targets.
  • Responsible for presenting and selling company services and products to current and prospective clients.
  • Responsible for following up on referrals and new leads generated after field activity.
  • Required to develop and maintain the existing product information and sales/marketing material.
  • Responsible for preparing proposals, presentations, and sales contracts. Also then responsible to coordinate with company staff to perform the work required in closing up sales.
  • Required to participate in marketing events like trade shows and seminars.
  • Manage account services through follow-up and quality checks.
  • Provide and assist in the training of new sales representatives.
  • Must assist in the execution of the Company’s marketing plans, objectives and strategies.
  • Travel is required in this position up to 50%.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or WORK EXPERIENCE

Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Business required. One to three years of experience in sales and/or gear pump products is preferred. Working knowledge of sales promotion and advertising techniques. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software is also preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, engineering blueprints and/or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to interpret graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Competence, awareness, and training for probationary employees will be assessed by the “Training & Competency Checklist,” the evaluation conducted at 90 days, as well as other training as needed. Competence, awareness, and training for regular employees will be assessed when annual evaluations are conducted, along with other measurements in accordance with the area the employee is assigned.
