Job Summary:
The ‘Ohana Conferencing Coordinator I (‘OC Coordinator) coordinates engages families, social workers and service providers in preparation for professional, productive, efficient, respectful, compassionate and safe ‘Ohana Conferences and re-conferences. ‘OC Coordinators are responsible for completing all pre-conference tasks ensuring that all key participants will be attending the conference, that the purpose of the conference is clear and understood by all participants, and that the logistical aspects of the conference are planned and delivered. The coordination case load for an ‘OC Coordinator is 20 to 25 cases with a goal of scheduling 8 to 10 conference per month.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and one year related experience and/or training. Experience working with children and families in the child welfare system is preferred. Excellent communication skills, in person and on the phone, are required for this position. Must be able to synthesize information in a clear and concise manner and write and speak clearly. Ability to be proficient with computer use including keyboarding, word processing, spreadsheets and database manipulation. Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook are required. Strong ability to write reports and correspondence. Must maintain an ethical, responsible and professional attitude and demeanor under all circumstances in person, by phone, e-mail and correspondence. Successful criminal and child abuse and neglect background clearance as required by state regulations for those who work with children and families in the Child Welfare System.
