The Virginia Department of Education, Office of Finance, is seeking a qualified and experienced individual to manage and support DOE’s Online Grant System, OMEGA, Help Desk. The individual will respond to inquiries from school division and DOE staff regarding the processing of grant applications, grant expenditure reimbursement requests, and other functionality of OMEGA. This individual will also provide training and participate in testing functionality in OMEGA.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience in operating a Help Desk.
  • Experience in providing training using automated software such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams
  • Skill in using and testing web-based systems.
  • Experience in documenting end user procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact frequently with internal and external customers using both verbal and written communication skills to discuss financial processes or issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to research, investigate, analyze, reconcile, and evaluate data.
  • Demonstrated ability to assist with grants reimbursements review and data entry/analysis of Finance transactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as with other team members.
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Post-secondary education and experience in computer systems.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experienced is preferred.

  • Successful candidate must pass a criminal background check.
  • Commonwealth of Virginia employees may have teleworking options available. Final teleworking agreements will be reviewed and approved upon hire.
