Position Summary
The OMIC Academy Coordinator (OAC) will provide executive-level administrative support and project management to the executive team, and collaborate with the Workforce Development Manager to manage, administer and grow the training program (OMIC Academy) at the OMIC campus in Scappoose, OR. The successful candidate will provide high level support including budget support, project monitoring and scheduling, special event planning, assistance with outreach and training materials, and tracking of revenues and expenses for the unit. The OAC will serve as a liaison with faculty, staff, industry members, administrative colleagues, partner research institutions and other stakeholders and operate within established policies and procedures of the university, while assisting the collaboration in developing strong administrative processes and procedures as we grow.

This position will assist with the structure and implementation of workshops and other events and projects to support and enhance our workforce development efforts. Position requires high attention to accuracy, excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to make thoughtful, independent decisions for routine and non-routine decision making. This position is a crucial element of the administrative support structure that is necessary for the innovation center (OMIC R&D).

Oregon Manufacturing Innovation Center Research & Development (OMIC R&D) is a world-class collaborative environment that provides economic, strategic, and technological solutions for its industry partners, bringing together the best talents and capabilities of leading manufacturing companies and three universities: Oregon Institute of Technology (Oregon Tech), Oregon State University (OSU), and Portland State University (PSU). The partnerships established through OMIC R&D provides applied research, technical advice, and support driven by manufacturing enterprises of all sizes to define the R&D focus. OMIC R&D is a developing and dynamic workspace where change is the norm. Operating procedures are being developed and are often flexible due to the constantly changing environment. It is not a manufacturing or fabrication facility where work tasks are predictable from one day to the next. The position is at the OMIC campus in Scappoose, OR.

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or other relevant field AND 5 years of experience supporting executive level administrative operations. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis
  • Proficiency in Office 365 products, calendar and teleconference software applications
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Strong organizational skills and detail orientation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including diplomacy and tact, and discernment with regards to maintaining a professional environment
  • Demonstrated ability to foster and maintain harmonious working relations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities with varying deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative while contributing to a team environment

  • Experience working in educational environment and/or training development

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $56,000.00 per year
