Reports to: Associate VP of Business Operations
Job Status: Non-exempt
Position Summary
The Enrollment Advisor serves the Pampell Online student body by supporting their academic goals from first contact, through matriculation onto graduation. The enrollment advisor serves as the student’s liaison to the university.
Job Responsibilities:
- Communicate all admissions, academic, and administrative policies advising the student on necessary next steps.
- Assist students in setting short-term goals and follow-up with students.
- Provide creative approaches to student retention and support.
- Resolve all student issues and assist the student in finding resolution.
- Utilize university resources to track student progress and identify outcomes.
- Provide customer service and support to prospective, new, and matriculated students.
- Utilize proactive outreach strategies to build strong working relationships with student population.
- Respond to emails and/or phone calls within 24 business hours with the goal of same day.
- Assist with special projects and temporary duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- College degree from an accredited college/university.
- 3 years of experience in education related field preferred but not required.
- Excellent organizational, project, and time management skills.
- Must have a good work ethic and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to use PC and Mac systems to perform daily tasks.
- Working knowledge of all university resources and recognize when to utilize them to best support HBU Online students.
- Ability to quickly learn and use specific business software and hardware.
- Ability to work effectively with others.
- Ability to multitask.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under tight deadlines.
- Adherence and support of the Houston Baptist University statement of belief as required by the Preamble of the By-Laws of the university.
Additional Information:
In exercising these functions, the employee must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. regularly. The employee must be able to see objects up close and differentiate between colors. Work may be subject to deadlines and require tailoring and delivering programs to meet the needs of many diverse groups. Some night and weekend activities are required.
