OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE (OE) SPECIALIST

FPPS is in search of an Operational Excellence (OE) Specialist. The OE Specialist is a valuable member within UW Faculty Practice Plan Services (FPPS) department and plays a critical role in the development and execution of the organizational OE/Lean Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement strategy and plan. This position is a key resource on the Technology Integration and Operations Support (TIOS) team that supports and provides IT, Analytics, Project/Program Management and QA/Education Services to the University of Washington Physicians (the University of Washington School of Medicine's clinical faculty practice organization), its administrative staff (FPPS), School of Medicine Clinical Departments, Children's University Medical Group, and other UW Medicine departments. The OE Specialist works directly with the FPPS OE Program Manager and Project Management Office/OE (PMOE) Manager to integrate OE processes that support aligning the FPPS organizational OE strategy to meet KPI/business outcomes.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors in public or business administration or related field
Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt or certification within 1 year
2-3 yrs of Lean/Continuous Improvement experience
OR equivalent combination of education/experience
DESIRABLE CANDIDATES MAY ALSO HAVE:
Certification in and/or familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies
Continuous Quality Improvement training and experience leading quality improvement teams
Experience in an academic healthcare environment preferred.
Experience in a healthcare/IT environment
Experience working as a PM within a PMO that has a standard set of project tools and templates
Formal training and/or certification on PMOBOK-based management techniques
Demonstrated experience leading, motivating, and managing various project and program team sizes, including internal and external resources, while holding all teams accountable for performance
Demonstrated leadership, diplomatic, and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across, and down multiple business and technology organizations/business units
Demonstrated experience effectively working with multiple, diverse stakeholders in a complex project environment within a cross-functional matrix environment
Demonstrated experience managing project work and/or work of others within an established standard project lifecycle framework
Strong experience presenting to executive sponsors and demonstrated communication skills; both written and oral with technical and non-technical staff, all levels of management
Strong experience in successfully leading projects and programs to on-time, on-schedule and within budget close
Strong experience in Project Methodologies (e.g., Agile, SCRUM, SDLC/Waterfall)
Experience negotiating vendor contracts
Experience drafting and submitting budget proposals and recommending subsequent budget changes where necessary
Experience maintaining relationships by engaging business leaders to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus, and achieve objectives
Experience influencing and gaining buy-in from executives sponsors, team members, stakeholders and peers
Experience researching best practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data and using continuous process improvement disciplines to achieve results
Technically competent with various software programs including MS Office tools (e.g., Project, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
