JOB DESCRIPTION

PURPOSE

The purpose of this document is to establish and define the responsibilities and authorities of the position of Operations Director, VitalShred. This is a leadership position reporting directly reporting to the Vice President of Operations and will be responsible the operational management of a ~$25M region, executing the operational plan for VitalShred, deliver operational excellence, and a partnership with the VRC sales organization to deliver revenue/EBITDA growth. This role will directly impact the growth of a $25M P&L with locations across 50% of the US.

Essential functions:


Responsibilities

The Operations Director, VitalShred will be responsible for supporting the development an overall strategy with the SVP of VitalShred to growth top line revenue and EBTIDA for the business, ensures this service line maintains current knowledge of SOPs and operating processes by all employees through reviews, audits and training, fosters/drives best practice sharing and benchmarking. The main areas of focus are:

Client Support – The Vice President of Operations (East or West) will be responsible for maintaining strong client relations for VRC’s largest shred customers. This should include quarterly business reviews to discuss service delivery, opportunities to expand the relationship within shred or to other service lines and provide two-way feedback to enhance the relationship. The role will also provide issue resolution for escalated concerns from the client.

Operations – The regional leader will support the SVP and QSM to enhance and execute operational procedures to improve the service delivery, security, and productivity of the Secure Shredding service line. This person will also be responsible for managing standard suite of metrics and KPI’s to measure safety, security, service delivery, throughput, service costs, overall productivity of the route-based and plant operations and a full P&L.

Organic Growth – This leader will be responsible for partnering with the sales organization on an effective pricing strategy, a targeted approach to build route density in existing markets, and support the sales effort for enterprise opportunities in the pipeline.

M&A – The regional leader will be responsible for partnering with the SVP of Integration and Operations Director (East or West) when integrating new acquisitions within their regional. This is a critical responsibility to ensure acquisitions are integrated on-time, within budget and new employees are supported through the change-management process.


Core Competencies

Operational Excellence – Working Experience

The candidate will have 7+ years of progressive experience leading a $25M+ P&L in a B2B routes-based business with plant operations and preferrable experience in secure destruction. The person should also have an entrepreneurial spirit and working within the structure of a PE backed business is a plus.

Technical Knowledge – Working Experience

Required is the knowledge of features and functionality of an ERP (Sage Intacct), as well as the VRC operational systems and how information is managed between VitalTrac, Intacct, A/R platform and other systems. The person must also be highly functional with routing software and the suite of Microsoft products including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Sales Growth – Working Experience

The candidate will preferably have some account management or sales experience.

Knowledge of practices, behaviors, applicable laws, rules, and regulations governing proper business conduct; ability to demonstrate ethical behavior in diverse situations.


Education and Training

Roles at this level require a college degree; MBA preferred.
