Primary responsibilities are to develop and lead all manufacturing operations through the use of the Tiered management structure to make sure operational requirements are clearly understood and the visual factory information is clear and easy to understand. Assure all standard work is accurate and being performed. Gives direction to all shift supervisors. Insures all manufacturing goals to include delivery, quality and financial are completed. Lead Lean manufacturing solutions for all products and processes. Work with Planning to understand current and future production demands to aid in the determination of what facilities, equipment, and processes are required to achieve optimum production capacity. Work with functional leaders to identify improvement opportunities, develop, execute and lead continuous improvement action plans, and assist in managing sustainment cycle of implemented Lean initiatives. Communicate any items that arise during the day so all teams understand who owns the issue and the impact that it may have to the schedule.

JOB DUTIES

Helps to establish and coordinate the execution of all manufacturing work schedules in conjunction with the Supply Chain Manager. Develop and maintain appropriate standard work for all positions so everyone understands their role and responsibility.

Initiate plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities and capital. Assure attainment of business objectives and production schedules while insuring product standards that will exceed our customers expectations. Manage to your staffing plans ensuring we have appropriate people in place and trained to support the plans of the business.

Works closely with Engineering and Quality in resolving technical problems and process improvements. Coordinate activities in scrap reduction, elimination of rework, material variances, labor variances, safety & ergonomic evaluations, and overall continuous improvement in assigned areas.

Working with Manufacturing Engineers and Production Supervisors, will lead manufacturing unit efforts in the development and implementation of lean manufacturing concepts including developing strategies, training employees, facilitating kaizen events, work center design and product/process flow including ergonomic considerations, mechanical design, changeover ease, etc. to optimize the manufacturing process and eliminate waste. Continually evaluate alternatives leading to the development and implementation of manufacturing processes on new and existing products to achieve an optimum relationship between cost and quality.

Assures that established policies, rules, regulations and procedures are followed, including but not limited to ISO9001, AS9100, ISO13485, NADCAP and NASA requirements.

Keeps management informed of progress in assigned areas, and reports any unique problems with recommendations as to their solutions. Performs other duties and handles special projects from time to time as assigned by the General Manager.

Establish and maintain a cooperative relationship with all support areas.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

College degree in Business or technical field; or equivalent combination of education and experience, plus a minimum of 4 years previous Supervision experience in similar manufacturing environment. Demonstrated knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and their implementation. Strongest skills required are in the areas of electronics assembly, soldering, molding, plating and progressive stamping products, and development of innovative manufacturing techniques. Strong leadership/motivation, decision making, organizational and communication skills are required and the ability to work with all levels of associates. Previous experience in managing direct reporting supervisors and an indirect staff of >65 people with multi shift experience is preferred. Requires excellent organizational skills and communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of associates. Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel. Must be open minded and quickly adaptable to change. Ability to facilitate, support and implement change within the organization. Must be highly dedicated and willing to work long hours when necessary.
