About the Company:
HilltopSecurities is currently looking to hire a Cost Basis Specialist. The Cost Basis Specialist is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and completion of cost basis and tax lot reporting for all accounts maintained by HilltopSecurities.

The Operations group's responsibilities include opening customer accounts, account maintenance, receiving and delivering money and securities to customers, and many more.
- Send out the outgoing CBRS items that fail (manual and electronic ACAT cost basis reporting to the contra firms)
- Update incoming CBRS items that fail (manual and electronic ACAT cost basis reporting from the contra firms)
- Resolve reconciliation breaks
- Assist with gifted/inherited updates, adding missing cost or custom pairing adjustments
- Update Cost Basis due to Corporate Actions and Options
- Perform Return of Capital adjustments due to Income Reallocations
- Perform Internal Cost Movements
- Review and explain fixed income cost basis adjustments
- Assist with General Inquiries/Salesforce Cases
- Reviews and maintains quality data in cost basis system to facilitate complete and accurate information reporting.
- Under moderate to close supervision, performs routine or basic functions according to department guidelines.
- High school diploma or equivalent with at least 1 year industry experience in Financial Services Operations and/or Securities Operations
- Familiarity with IRS Cost Basis regulations in relation to broker/dealer reporting a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Customer focused with effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently
- Ability to interact effectively with branch, regional and corporate personnel
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Quick learner and detail oriented with the ability to prioritize workload to meet daily deadlines
- Able to work additional hours and/or flexible shift assignments when needed
