We are seeking a Database Developer for a remote assignment supporting a Federal Public Health end client. Candidate must be a US Citizen eligible for Public Trust Background Check as a precondition of employment.

Job Description:
Qualified AWS RDS Oracle Database Administrator to direct on-prem to Oracle Migration and provide long term support for RDS Database Administration and Data cleanup. As part of the IT team, will work closely with developers, architects, and clients to ensure system consistency. Will also collaborate with administrators and clients to provide technical support and identify new requirements. Communication and organization skills are keys for this position, along with a problem-solution attitude. Ensuring the database systems run effectively and securely on a daily basis.

Core Duties:

• Develop and support PL/SQL procedures and Oracle RDS Server instances.
• Develop and integrate PLSQL, Bash, and Python scripts independently.
• Daily hands-on work within AWS Cloud environments.
• Frequent interaction with team development and leadership resources.
• Fully integrate into Agile scrum teams, update activity process in Jira, active participation in team ceremonies, effectively share progress, and quickly communicate impediments.
• Maintain stable, reliable, and effective Oracle RDS databases.
• Frequent use of Github, Jira, and Confluence (or Agile Life Cycle Management tools).

Additional Responsibilities:

• Analyze data and create and review processes.
• Effectively document work, summarize activity, and frequently communicate with other team members (emails, chats, meetings, etc.)
• Implement strategy to refactor existing database with minimal impact on application code.
• Provide data management support to users
• Ensure all database programs meet company and performance requirements.
• Optimize and maintain legacy systems.
• Willingness to collaborate in development of solutions and metrics.
• Perform expected responsibilities with strong attention to details.
• Maintain high performance and productivity in-spite of some level of

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
• 4+ years’ experience working in similar technology.
• Able to support core hours between 9am to 5pm Eastern.
• Hands-on experience conducting full Oracle database migrations from on-premises to AWS RDS
• Proven work experience as an Oracle database developer
• In-depth understanding of data management (e.g., permissions, recovery, security, and monitoring)
• Knowledge of software development and user interface web applications
• Extensive hands-on experience with SQL, PL/SQL, RDS, Oracle databases (10.0 or more recent)
• Extensive hands-on experience using Github, Jira, and Confluence (or Agile similar development and Life Cycle Management tools).
• Extensive hands-on experience using replication (e.g., DataPump), and backup tools for Oracle databases.
• Able to modify databases according to requirements or change requests.
• Able to verify and validate Oracle Database through several types of testing (unit, system, regression, performance, etc.)
• Can independently solve common database usage issues and address malfunctions.
• Liaise with developers to improve applications and establish best practices.
• Must be US Citizen

Nice to have/Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to gather user requirements and identify new features.
• Familiarity working with .Net Framework, JavaScript, and HTML.
• Experience with HHS

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $130,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
