As the 1426 Senior Clerk Typist, you will report to the Senior Business Manager and be a part of the Student Nutrition Services Department. You will assume the responsibility of ordering meals from our vendor partners, coordinating with the site dining staff to ensure meals are received as ordered, and communicate with the vendor to resolve issues as they arise, review meal count documents and forms for accuracy, and support the claiming process for reimbursement of student meals.
- Review meal orders from site dining staff and input in the order system; ensure all sites assigned submit meal orders. Work dining staff and area supervisors when meal orders are not submitted. Including fieldtrip and special meals for students.
- Assist with troubleshooting issues with meal delivery: work closely with vendor, dining staff, and SNS management to resolve issues with meal delivery and ensure students have meals available for Breakfast, Lunch, Supper, and snack
- Checks and reviews all claim and meal count documents for sufficiency and conformance to established standards and requirements: work with dining staff and area supervisors to ensure documentation is submitted
- Monitor and review point of service system for completeness of site meal entries for claiming purposes.
- Independently composes correspondence relative to order issues, missing claim documentation, and standard or routine office operations
- May supervise and participate in the maintenance of a large variety of detailed clerical records, reports and similar materials
- Compiles and condenses data from various sources which requires an understanding of problems and terminology involved and relevant rules and regulations governing such activities
- May enter accounting and financial statements, contracts, payrolls, receipts and similar materials into the appropriate system and submits to authorizing officials, frequently requiring the use of independent judgment
- Receives and communicates with the general public in connection with providing information of departmental activities and/or directs them to the appropriate personnel
- May receive and account for moderate amounts of money
- Receives, organizes and files a variety of information and data in connection with the maintenance of office records
- Operates various office machines
- May submit and track work order requests for building maintenance issues, as required
- Performs related duties as assigned
This is a Temporary Provisional (TPV) appointment type.

Minimum Qualifications
Experience:
Two (2) years of verifiable clerical experience including at least one year at a level comparable to a 1424 Clerk Typist. Experience must have included data entry, preparing and maintaining a wide variety of documents and reports, public contact, checking and reviewing documents for completeness, and performing mathematical computations. Working as a sales clerk or restaurant help does not qualify.
Substitution:
A recognized clerical training program of 240 hours or the equivalent of 15 semester units in graded clerical college units may substitute for up to 6 months of experience.

- Experience reviewing records related to meal counts and service for accuracy and compliance with federal, state regulations for reimbursement
- Experience working with school nutrition meal ordering systems

- Thorough attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to define and implement effective SNS business practices
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively across multiple functions and roles within a moderately complex organization
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues and vendors
- Experience and success with effective written and verbal communication, facilitation and presentations to a variety of audiences (e.g., staff meetings, trainings)
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Ability to use computer applications, including e-mail, word processing , spreadsheets to prepare correspondence, reports, and other documentation, and process information and create and maintain records.
- Ability to maintain high customer service and communication standards, including written, orals , and electronic communication via email
