The Role

The Orthodontic Billing Specialist is responsible for supporting the clinic staff to ensure the performance and overall success of the company. The success will be measured by accurate execution of standards, guidelines, policies and procedures as well as working together with the clinical orthodontic team to provide our patients and their families with a first-class experience each and every time. The Orthodontic Billing specialist works closely with the clinic staff to ensure that the Company’s Mission, Purpose, and Beliefs are being supported and the overall vision is achieved.

The Essential Job Elements

· Daily management of orthodontic billing operations including submission of pre-authorizations and claims, insurance eligibility and verification, pre- and post-claims reviews, patient collections, and insurance payment posting for offices in multiple states.

· Review insurance EOBs to ensure all procedures are paid correctly and in a timely manner

· Enter adjustments for non-appealable denials to maintain clean ledgers

· Follow-up and appeal unpaid or underpaid procedures when appropriate

· Work insurance and patient aging report to ensure all claims and accounts are paid

· Auditing accounts and sending statements

· Resolves problems by clarifying the issues involved, researching, and exploring answers and providing alternative solutions

· Function as the central point of contact for orthodontic clinic teams

· Resolve customer complaints and/or billing questions to the customer’s satisfaction

· Maintain clear and concise communication and create strong relationships over all business lines

· Other duties as assigned

Skills/Requirements

Desired Profile/Background

· 1-3 years previous orthodontic billing experience highly preferred

· Clear understanding of orthodontic mechanics, terminology, insurance codes and scheduling coupled with excellent customer service skills

· Strong attention to detail

· Excellent communication and computer skills

· “Can do” attitude with problem solving skills

· Upbeat personality is a MUST

· Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment

· Excellent customer service skills

· Honest, ethical, high integrity

· Able to connect and build trust with each clinic personnel, team members and department heads

· Enjoys working in a team environment

· Clean, neat professional appearance

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour

• Dental billing: 1 year (Preferred)
