Position Summary:Critical role in working as a team to pack materials so they arrive on time and damage free.
Essential Functions:
1. Packs Customer Merchandise
- Carefully lifts, pushes, and places customer equipment/materials inside of TransPak manufactured crates
- Unloads, prepares, and completes assembly of the crate at customer site if not already assembled using hammers, cordless nail guns, or power drills; this includes nailing or hammering on tops or sides of wooden crates to the base or neighboring sides at a customer site or in the TransPak facility depending on production schedule.
- May assist with other crate assembly tasks as production schedule permits, as needed.
- Rides in company truck along with other Packer IIs to customer sites.
- Follows established driving route and packing schedule.
- May assist in pre and post-trip inspections.
- Address and report all equipment defects or maintenance needs to maintain safe and efficient use. Follow all procedures, policies and know the equipment before using it.
- Speak up when observing something that may be unsafe or someone performing unsafe acts.
- Efficiently perform work according to standard operating procedures.
- Work together with other team members to accomplish tasks safely in a fast-paced production environment.
Required
- High School diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent experience in field.
- At least one month experience as a Packer I – Pack In House.
- At least 6 months experience working with power tools, especially pneumatic power tools
- 3 to 6 months experience with woodworking, wood crafting, carpentry, or other related experience required
- Able to operate forklift, pallet jacks, hand-truck to move heavy materials or product.
- Spatial awareness and attention to detail in packing and securing materials onto crate with care to avoid damage to customer product as instructed.
- Work independently or in teams with minimal supervision.
- Communicate and understand written and verbal instructions.
- Bilingual English-Spanish speaker
- Valid state Class C driver’s license
- At least 23 years of age
- Clean driving record
- Previous experience driving box trucks and bobtail trucks
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Flexible to changes in work priorities and schedule
