Job description
Employees are eligible for a $1,500 retention payment for a commitment of 7 pay periods (14 weeks) and are eligible for renewal at the end of each 7 pay periods until the facility closes. Speak to the hiring manager for more information on eligibility.
SCHEDULE:
8 hour shifts with some variation and weekend rotation
*** Will work 20-25 hrs per week ***
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Need an LPN license for Iowa and a valid Driver's License
JOB DUTIES:
Under functional supervision of RN, performs technical nursing procedures within scope of practice, assures medical and nursing orders are carried out, treatments performed, necessary ills are seen by a physician, and all federal, state, local and patient care standards are met. Responds to emergency situations
Documents all assessments, observations, and care and treatment provided. Reports/communicates information to RN and physician, as well as other IDT members as appropriate
Provides functional supervision of care provided by unlicensed nursing personnel (i.e., certified medication aides, direct support staff, etc.) in order to assure supports for health care and safety are implemented
Actively engages in performance improvement activities at facility, department and unit levels, collects and reports data, and implements performance improvement measures. Participates in nursing peer review process
Participates in interdisciplinary treatment teams, work groups, nursing service teams and committees as assigned
Attends seminars, conferences, and other training events to stay current in nursing practice standards and evidence based nursing care. Maintains current LPN license, basic life support certification, and other mandatory continuing education activities. Completes Mandatory Reporter for Dependent Adult and Child Abuse training as required by Iowa Code
*** Under the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS’s) new vaccine mandate for healthcare workers (published on November 5, 2021 and affirmed by the United States Supreme Court on January 13, 2022), all potential employees of this facility must have received, at a minimum, the first dose of a primary series or a single dose vaccine OR have an approved religious or medical exemption (as determined by the agency) OR have documentation reflecting a temporary delay in vaccination (as determined by the agency in accordance with CDC allowances), prior to the start date. Candidates shall coordinate with agency staff to ensure all requirements are met before the individual provides any care, treatment, or other services for the facility and/or its clients ***
Licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse by the Iowa Board of Nursing or licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact Administrator's Agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
