JOB DESCRIPTION

Scott-Macon Equipment, an Equal Opportunity Employer with branches in Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma, is seeking a Parts Representative to join our Houston location.

SUMMARY OF JOB

Under the supervision of the Parts Manager, supports and assists the Parts Department through assisting customers and other as-needed tasks.

JOB DUTIES

  • Receives and responds to incoming calls for parts sales, as well as dealing with walk-in customers using professional customer service skills
  • Receives and responds to quote requests from customers via phone or email
  • Sets up and updates part item cards
  • Maintains confidential customer account information
  • Prepares parts quotes for customers
  • Prepares purchase orders to submit to vendors via online or email and assists with determining their accuracy
  • Prepares sales orders for customers
  • Works with vendors to ensure parts are purchased at the best possible price
  • As needed, responsible for shipping out parts to customers or for branch transfers
  • Will be cross-trained to order, post, and pull parts for service orders
  • Assists in maintaining neat and orderly parts stock area
  • Other duties as the situation warrants or as required or requested by Branch Parts Manager and/or Corporate Parts Manager

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Two years of previous sales and/or parts department experience, preferably in the heavy equipment or automotive industry. Applicants who do not fulfill this requirement will not be considered.

SKILLS: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to learn Scott-Macon Equipment's inventory system. Demonstrates an ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, customers, vendors, and public. Fluent in Spanish is preferred.
