Overview:
As a core component of the position, the Analyst, Patient Relations is expected to access the core factors of each pre-grievance or grievance, identify viable solutions and analyze the risks and benefits of each. This person must be able to clearly communicate findings and recommendations in both verbal and in written formats. Additionally, the Analyst, Patient Relations is responsible to draft written correspondence to patient and external agencies. The Analyst, Patient Relations needs to be an expert in obtaining information to ensure proper documentation, evaluation from clinical and technical perspectives, and closure of each grievance. The Analyst, Patient Relations is also responsible to build and maintain collaborative, mutually beneficial partnerships with all primary stake holders including, but not limited to: owner dentists, affiliated dentists and practice staff and key insurance carriers.
Responsibilities
- On average, successfully complete fifty (50) to seventy-five (75) new cases while following up on an additional fifty (50) to seventy-five (75) pervious cases per month.
- Analyze dental patient grievances to identify and address core concerns. This includes the review and interpretation of dental insurance benefit plans and clinical treatment plans.
- Research the appropriate clinical and contractual information and provide a quick, accurate and thorough verbal and/or written response to patients, health care professionals and/or requesting agencies.
- Contribute to the development and distribution of Best Practices throughout the organization.
- Proactively serve as a liaison with affiliated dental offices, patients, insurance carriers, the Better Business Bureau, Small Claims Court, and the Dental Board.
- Serve as an internal resource for innovative thinking as it relates to affiliated dental office grievance trends.
- Constantly search for best practices for specialty and general offices in the field and help implementation and execution of systems.
- Lead and participate in meetings as required.
- Other duties assigned by Management.
Required
- 0-2 years of related work experience.
- Operational knowledge of medical/ dental offices.
- Equivalent to high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Prior coursework or on-the-job training in the fields of dentistry, business, or training.
- Knowledge of WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT and QSI software applications.
