Position: Patient Services Representative

Scope of Responsibility

To provide multiple services to all of the clinic patients and to assist the providers, nurses and medical assistants as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Print day’s appointment schedule for providers, nurses and medical assistants
• Prepare patient file(s) for providers, nurses and medical assistants
• Confirm appointments
• Cancel/reschedule appointments
• Verify insurance status
• Assist patients with requests for medical records, forms, shot records, insurance forms, excuse slips, prescriptions, special procedures, etc.
• Maintain front desk and waiting area (i.e., ensuring that areas are clean and neat in appearance)
• Check voice mail
• Check in patients
• Accept payments
• Open charts for new patients
• Check out patients after appointments
• Maintain front desk supplies
• Answer phones
• Assist in entering information in Lytec system
• Photocopy patient information
• Fax information as needed
• Pull patient charts
• Assist in converting charts
• Filing patient charts
• Pull patient charts
• Make copies of medical records along with signed Records Release Form
• Transfer worn out charts to new charts

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Typing skills
• Phone etiquette skills
• Math skills
• Interpersonal skills

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $10.00 - $19.00 per hour
