Responsibilities:
The
Payroll Specialist will process weekly payroll and coordinate payroll related functions. Responsibilities include:
1. Prepare payroll in a timely and accurate manner.
2. Maintain all appropriate payroll records in accordance with State and Federal regulations, and agency best practices.
3. Prepare payroll tax reports as required.
4. Work with both Controllers and Chief Financial Officer to develop, implement and monitor annual goals and objectives.
5. Be a source of information for payroll accounting and governmental regulations.
6. Play a significant role in process improvement, including training new management and gaining efficiencies.
7. Prepare work papers for annual audit.
8. Communicate with program director/managers on payroll matters.
9. Communicate with human resources team to ensure accuracy of information related to status changes, deductions, paid
time off, accrual balances and other types of payroll information.
10. Serve as backup for various accounting personnel, as needed
Qualifications:
Associate’s Degree in Accounting or related field with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a payroll or accounting environment within a business, not-for-profit or government agency. Familiarity with “ADP Workforce Now” preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
