What You Will Do:


JOB SUMMARY:

Maintain and monitor inventory for the Operating Room areas, which include Operating Room, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Ambulatory Admissions, Supply Chain Storeroom Operation, and Linen distribution.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Must have the ability to establish and maintain proper inventory levels of supplies, instruments, and equipment of Operating Room areas.

2. Must have the ability to order weekly and bi-weekly supplies to maintain a safe inventory level.

3. Must have the ability to assume responsibility for proper placement of orders received and rotates supplies to keep lots current.

4. Must have the ability to monitoring and request backorder updates (vendors) for existing open orders.

5. Must have the ability to pick up and deliver supplies, OR stocking, and OR case picking

6. Must sustain a clean and organized work environment.

7. Must have the ability to process requisition forms maintaining file system on purchase orders and items received.

8. Must have the ability to oversee maintenance of equipment keeping abreast of preventive maintenance programs and/or instruments with Bio-Medical Department.

9. Under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing and Materials Manager, acts as liaison between Operating Room areas, other hospital departments, outside vendors, and sales representatives in obtaining emergency orders, special purchases, and/or equipment repairs.

10. Must have the ability to compute prices and maintain charge system according to established procedures.

11. May be required to coordinate the evaluation and inservice of new equipment.

12. Must have the ability to compile statistics regarding maintenance and repair cost.

13. Must have the ability to keep records of repairs and/or replacements, correspondence with outside vendors, and other hospital departments.

14. Must be able to assist in preparation of departmental budget.

15. Adheres to all hospital and departmental policies and procedures.

16. Utilizes appropriate customer relations skills when interacting with patients, families, visitors, hospital staff, etc. to ensure all customers are treated under R.O.C.K.E.T standards.

17. Performs all duties as required or assigned as needed.

18. Rotating shift as needed.


What You Need to Be Successful:


QUALIFICATIONS:

High school graduate or equivalent, preferably with some college credits in Business Math, Statistics and/or Inventory Control. Knowledge of Operating Room essential. Must demonstrate some computer skills.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must have the ability to ensure the confidentiality and rights of patients and employees and the confidentiality of all hospital and departmental documents.
