The Wilson County Health Department is now accepting applications for a Personnel Technician II position.Work Schedule: The normal work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. However, there are times when additional hours are required in order to meet departmental needs.Compensation: The starting salary for a fully qualified Personnel Technician II starts at $44,156+ a competitive benefits package.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The Personnel Technician II carries out human resource functions for the Wilson County Health Department. These responsibilities include but are not limited to: Will be responsible for posting of positions and review of applications, and for personnel actions (e.g. new hires, separations, promotions) Position is also responsible for entry of Leave of Absence actions, Separations and Reinstatements.Performs payroll administration functions and verifies payroll reports.This position communicates to employees the eligibility requirements regarding FML as required by state and/or federal policy, prepares notification letters to employees on leave regarding leave benefit options, works with employees and their medical professionals to ensure paperwork is completed correctly and in a timely manner in accordance with state and/or federal policy and deadlines; communicates with management regarding employees’ leave status and approval status.Establishes and maintains files. New Hire Employee onboarding tasks including orientation.Provides troubleshooting assistance, researching errors and communicating with employee and county officials in a professional manner.Must adhere to State and Federal laws, as well as OSHR and Wilson County policies.Will communicate accurate information regarding benefit products (e.g. Family Medical leave, Voluntary Shared leave, Heath Insurance, etc.) and will coordinate annual enrollments, research and resolve employee benefit issues.Provides information to employees on policies surrounding time and leave management.Coordinates other various HR related activities.Other duties as assigned.Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for this position include: Ability to interpret and apply standards personnel policies, procedures, and regulations to a variety of personnel transactions.To gather, compile, and evaluate position and employee information.To exercise judgment in evaluating situations and making recommendations concerning employees and positions, transactions, and problems.To establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, administrative officials, and the general public.To express oneself clearly and concisely in oral and written form.To work independently and to make recommendations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from high school and five years of progressively responsible administrative work including at least two years of experience in administering a personnel program(s) for a work unit or in a personnel office, preferably related to the area assigned to the position; or, graduation from a four year college or university and one year of experience in administering a personnel program(s) for a work unit or in a personnel office, preferably related to the area assigned to the position; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
