New England Life Care is hiring a full-time Pharmacy Technicians for our Portland branch.*
These positions offer great schedules of Monday – Friday, flexible shifts between 7AM – 6PM, including participation in on-call, holiday and weekend rotations. Also offering up to a $3,000.00 Sign-On Bonus for a full-time position!

Under the supervision and direction of a Licensed Pharmacist, the person in this position is responsible for the preparation of sterile infusion medications using aseptic technique and assisting the pharmacist in the operational tasks of conducting a home infusion pharmacy._

Responsibilities: *
- Assists the pharmacist(s) in providing pharmaceutical care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly.
- Demonstrates the ability to identify and understand the variable dosage requirements of different age groups. Understands the need to consult with the pharmacist if questions / concerns arise.
- Accurately prepares intravenous solutions and admixtures in a timely manner according to NELC policies and procedures.
- Accurately labels, packages and stores products prior to shipment to patients.
- Maintains pharmacy and clean room in a clean, organized and well stocked manner according to NELC policies and procedures.
- Assists with daily, weekly and monthly Quality Assurance activities including but not limited to temperature monitoring of product environment and QA testing of compounded batches.
- Assists with inventory management functions involving purchasing and receiving drug shipments as well as computer system inventory maintenance.
- Assists in the completion of quarterly inventory counts as required.
- Follows NELC policies and procedures in the normal conduction of company business.
- Assures that professional practice complies with state and federal regulations including, but not limited to the HIPAA Privacy and Security regulations and NELC’s Corporate Compliance Program.
- Takes the initiative to meet internal and external customer needs in a timely and courteous manner; maintains a high level of customer satisfaction; follows up on customer complaints/concerns.
- Establishes and maintains good working relationships; shows respect and concern for the feelings of others; interfaces effectively with all levels of the organization; focuses on situations rather that personalities in relating to others; works cooperatively within a group; accepts constructive feedback.
- Participates in ongoing professional development via regular attendance at department meetings, in-services, and other educational programs pertinent to his/her job.
- Performs other duties / projects as assigned by direct supervisor.

Educational Requirements: *
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Certified/Licensed or ability to be Certified/ Licensed as Pharmacy Technician as required by state specific Board of Pharmacy regulations.

Requirements: *
- Ability to perform accurate dosage calculations when filling various prescriptions for all age populations required.
- Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instruction provided in written, oral and diagram formats required.
- Ability to recognize inappropriate dosing based in available dosing forms for various age groups required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and customers required.
- Excellent organizational skills required.
- Knowledge / practical experience with microcomputer systems such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) required.
- Dependability in attendance and job performance required.
- Excellent customer service skills required.
- One (1) year (minimum) experience in IV admixtures using an IV laminar flow hood in hospital or homecare setting preferred.
