  • Experience: One year recent experience preferred.
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program required.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledgeable about industry standards related to patient care and safety. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Licenses/Registrations/Certifications: Current WA State Physical Therapy Assistant license. Current BLS.

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), working under the direct supervision of the Physical Therapist, assists in the productive operation the Rehabilitation Services department. Assists a Physical Therapist with a patient's rehabilitative activites, including activities to reduce pain and improve mobility, execise instruction and demonstration, and patient assessment and testing. Relies on experience and judgment to carry out and accomplish established treatment goals.


WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The work requires regular and recurring physical exertion such as standing or walking for prolonged periods of time; frequent bending, reaching, stooping, crouching, crawling, and stretching is necessary to assist in the movement and transfer of patients with mobility impairments and requires use of proper body mechanics. This may include transferring patients from beds to wheelchairs and vice versa, and perform maximum assist/dependent transfers. The employee must exert 10-20 pounds of force constantly to move objects, must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and push/pull up to 300 pounds on wheels.Requires frequent repetitive hand/wrist motions and finger manipulation. Requires normal/corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
