Key Duties and Responsibilities
The statements below describe the essential duties of the person or persons assigned to this job. They are not intended as an exhaustive list of all job duties and responsibilities.
1.Functions as a primary contact for internal and external providers regarding patient referrals and relationships between primary care and specialty practices. Interfaces with physicians and their staff to improve communications and operations between the parties and to increase understanding of the referring physicians needs and expectations.
2.Develops programs and opportunities to establish/strengthen inter-professional relationships between BCHP specialists and referring physicians/clinicians including, but not limited to, in-service trainings, networking events, and CME events.
3.Establishes and adheres to an ongoing schedule of visits to physicians and medical practices, prioritizing locations and geographies based on conversations with BCHP leadership. Routinely visits (in person and virtually) and communicates via phone & email to identify challenges, to educate, and to help resolve issues
4.Identifies issues and concerns of referring physicians/practices/organizations and communicates back to the appropriate individual, department, or area. Facilitates issue resolution, working toward improved processes and communications. Ensures management and accountability of all functions related to problem resolution.
5.Creates and provides biweekly reports to BCHP leadership. Data will include, but not be limited to, referral trends, practices visited, and problems/opportunities/initiatives, and their status. Develops and maintains additional reports as requested by BCH and BCHP leadership.
6.Develops an in-depth knowledge of BCHP specialty services and programs
7.Develops a comprehensive understanding of the health care marketplace and the market factors that operate in assigned geographic territories. Ensures that BCHP leadership is kept updated on changing market trends. Develops, obtains buy-in, and maintains an efficient, predictable process for vetting prospective practices for participation in, or acquisition by, BCHP.
8.Identifies new/prospective practices and supports recruitment of prioritized practices
9.Contribute to creation and distribution of internal BCHP newsletter to keep providers and staff informed of provider staffing changes, new service lines, new hires, and achievements within BCHP.
10.Participate in planning and implementation of staff appreciation days
11.Maintain updated version of specialty guide, provider announcements, and provider biographies with the goal of distributing these documents to referring providers
12.Assist with practice participation in external community events (eg. Street fairs, health fairs), including attendance at these events, coordination of distribution of marketing tools, and assistance with procuring marketing tools and giveaways
Minimum Knowledge and Skills
Bachelors degree in a clinical discipline, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related healthcare field is required.
Requires 3+ years working with community-based PCPs and subspecialists, with a track record of successful customer service, communication effectiveness, and relationship building.
Exceptional verbal and written communications; persuasive presenter, strong business acumen; interpersonal skills; team player; and consensus builder.
Knowledge of the healthcare industry, particularly on evolving environmental trends.
Capacity to inspire confidence of his/her community physicians and his/her BCHP colleagues.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities, perform business and market analyses, and develop constructive professional working relationships
Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Products: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
Must have a valid drivers license, personal transportation (automobile in good working condition), and auto insurance.
Salary approx. $90,000 annual depending on experience.
