Job description
The Practice Coordinator’s role is to assist the department director in the day - to - day management of departmental operations and personnel management, while also performing the full scope of administrative support duties in the practie. The Practice Coordinator must be knowledgeable of, and ensure compliance with, all relevant regulatory and accreditation standards, and will maintain departmental policies and procedures in support of these standards and other organizational initiatives.
In the execution of job duties, it is the universal expectation that all tasks are performed with a patient centered focus, while also seeking opportunities to continually improve core processes. Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need, which may include but is not limited to: holidays, extended shifts, night and/or weekend shifts, standby and/or on-call. Reports to: Director - Fauquier Health Physicians Services.
Essential Functions
Oversees daily operations of designated clinic(s) in collaboration with Market Director or Market Manager..
Trains providers and staff on Athena as it pertains to their roles.
Responsible for onboarding and orientation of new staff.
Consistently exhibits good customer service skills in all interactions with staff, patients and families. Establishes this as an expectation of all staff and actively monitors compliance with this expectation.
Ensures optimal staffing for practice and provider needs.
Serves as a liaison between practice physicians and office employees, and between the practice and other clinical and administrative areas.
Maintains appointment templates.
Maintains provider call schedules.
Assists Director of Physician Services in communications with staff and providers at clinics.
Minimum Education
 High School Diploma or Equivalent: X Required ? Preferred
 Associate's degree: ? Required X Preferred
 Minimum Work Experience
 Minimum of 1-2 years management/supervisor experience preferably in a medical setting.
 Required Skills
 Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
 
 Language Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
 
 Demonstrates ability to provide effective leadership.
