The Outreach Specialist will increase the community impact of PCD programming by: - Recruit volunteers for events across all five core program areas.

- Recruit attendees for farm workshops through social media and occasional flyering.

- Daily email and phone correspondence with volunteers to ensure District volunteer opportunities are well attended.

- Represent the District at general outreach events.

- Contribute to general District communication materials such as the Tahoma View quarterly newsletter, website blog, and social media posts.

- Learn a new Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software system and enter post-workshop data.

- Conduct annual and workshop surveys to gauge effectiveness of programs.

- Do outreach with the Latino farming community.

Pierce Conservation District is seeking an Outreach Specialist to help expand one of the most diverse and rapidly growing networks of volunteers in the Puget Sound region and support the outreach efforts of our Farm Team. This exciting position will help the District continue to reach new and diverse audiences through recruitment, outreach content development, assisting with virtual workshops, and supporting data collection that can help communicate the effectiveness of our work. The AmeriCorps member will serve with professional staff and community members to increase volunteer opportunities, increase outreach of our educational events, and increase the utilization of our shared resources for farmers, including our manure share program, soil testing program, and shared equipment loans. The experience of doing the work, networking with environmental professionals, and inspiring community provides the AmeriCorps member a well-rounded learning opportunity while providing PCD with much needed capacity to deliver program.
