For over 30 years, our Charlotte and Raleigh civil engineering and landscape architecture professionals have teamed on more than 5,500 projects. Every project team is set up in a cross-disciplinary studio with engineers and designers working side-by-side from site analysis through construction administration.

What you will be doing:

• Assists with transportation, multimodal, and active transportation planning projects at local and regional levels.
• Researches, prepares and presents findings and recommendations to public agencies, elected officials, and concerned citizens.
• Considers input and provides explanations in a non-technical manner.
• Prepares and executes public and stakeholder engagement plans.
• Applies methods and statistical principles related to urban/rural growth and development.
• Prepares effective reports and presentations.
• Assists with grant and loan applications.
• Assists with environmental reviews and documentation.

What we are looking for:

• Bachelor?s or Master?s degree in urban planning, public policy or closely related field from an accredited college with previous internship experience.
• General knowledge and skills in GIS and its planning uses.
• General knowledge in related software (i.e., ArcGIS, MS Excel and Word)
• General knowledge of Adobe Creative Suites.
• General knowledge of NEPA regulations (environmental focus) beneficial but not required.
• Strong skills in client needs assessment, meeting quality standards for service, and evaluation of client satisfaction.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent composition, grammar, and proofreading skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Possess a valid driver?s license.
