We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Plant Leader for our Onshore Resources & Carbon Management, EOR asset.



This position will be located in our Salt Creek office. The Plant Leader is accountable for all aspects of plant performance, and will ensure that objectives are attained in a cost-effective manner that’s consistent with quality requirements. They develop processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality and productivity. This position effectively manages operational and maintenance issues to support system needs, evaluates performance of and develops direct reports, maintains high standards of diversity and inclusion, ethics and integrity, and drives continuous improvement by serving as a champion of change.

Roles and Responsibilities
1. Manage direct reports with performance goals, standards, operational strategies and best practices to ensure business plan execution
2. Interface with Operations Support Team Leaders to ensure maintenance and operational goals are being met
3. Accountable for equipment conditions in each assigned plant
4. Coach, motivate and develop staff in order to improve their skills and enable them to fulfill job requirements
5. Accountable for knowing and complying with all applicable regulations, safety policies and company HES training requirements
6. Responsible for key performance metrics: downtime/reliability, expenses, safety and environmental emissions compliance, maintenance capital, Maximo maintenance compliance
7. Actively contribute to performance management for teams and teammates
8. Implement corrective action measures for negative behaviors and improvement plans for unacceptable performance
9. Assist with conflict management between members of the plant, contractors, vendors, etc.
10. Assist in career development for direct reports to encourage knowledge learning and transfer
11. Create an environment where members of the team make the day-to-day decisions while providing the tools, training, and support needed to make those decisions
12. Manage, communicate and ensure compliance with Oxy standards and best practices
13. Partner with Field counterparts to minimize flare and production impacts due to planned or upset outages.
14. Coordinate meetings with the field leads to ensure proper communication between the plant and corresponding field on issues, upcoming scheduled work, proper collaboration, and optimization.


Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent operational experience in operations and maintenance
Experience: 10+ years of industry experience in operations and maintenance
