Florida Palm is a locally owned and operated Construction and Plumbing Company in the heart of South Florida. Florida Palm Plumbing Division is an exciting new branch seeking an Experienced Plumber to join our team as we seek to grow within the plumbing industry.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Experienced Plumber will be in charge of providing on-site coordination for all phases of a plumbing job, including re-piping, plumbing repairs, and new plumbing work. The work will be done throughout South Florida, and will be done under the supervision of a licensed plumber. The Experienced Plumber would be responsible for managing material, the physical “hands-on” plumbing work, preforming work on schedule. The Experienced Plumber will have a helper to help assist with jobs.

To be a successful Experienced Plumber, you will need to be able to work on deadlines, know how to review plans, skilled on layout and underground pipping, and have exceptional verbal, written and communication skills.

The Experienced Plumber’s responsibilities include:

• Maintain and repair general plumbing components to include toilets, urinals, faucets, hose bibs, and drains.
• Install, repair, or replace domestic hot and cold-water lines.
• Repair and replace steam to hot water exchangers for major building heating systems and pools.
• Repair and replace pneumatic steam valves, radiator valves, traps, and steam and condensate pipes.
• Repair and replace domestic hot water heat pumps, chilled water pumps, sump pumps, and sewage pumps.
• Install, test, and repair all sizes of backflow prevention devices.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts and repairs steam, water, and gas distribution systems.
• Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
• In coordination with management, assign to and track corrective and preventive maintenance tasks given to subordinate plumbers.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
• Must be able to travel to the job sites as assigned

Minimum Job Requirements

• 4-6 years of trades experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair skills.
• Knowledge of steam, water, and natural gas distribution systems maintenance and repair.
• Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
• Ability to read, understand, and follows safety procedures.
• Ability to pass inspections.
• Ability to follow plans and isometric drawings.
• Ability to create material lists for projects.

• Possession of a valid Florida driver's license is a requirement for this job.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

• Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises.
• Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of job.
• Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.

Employee will serve full-time (40 hours). This position will be paid an hourly; rate depending on experience and recommendations. This position will also be eligible for full health benefits, 401(k) retirement fund, company holidays and paid time off.
