Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow for the Department of Rehabilitation and Movement Sciences within the School of Health Professions. Under the direction of Dr. Serrado, the Postdoctoral Fellow will train in clinical and applied basic research in the Integrative Human Physiology Laboratory. Need highly motivated individual to work with an integrative team of physiologists, neuropsychologists and psychologists to develop new research paradigms and facilitate the translation of current research into clinical treatment studies. Particularly interested in candidates with training and research interests in human physiology, vestibular rehabilitation or vestibular autonomic. Current studies include work on mild traumatic brain injury, post traumatic stress disorder, and balance and vestibular function, and use of physiological and psychophysiological methods. In addition, we have an active collaboration with Johns Hopkins, NASA investigators and other US and international partners. Current lab facilities include a full VNG suite, centrifuge for unilateral otolith stimulation, gait lab and full autonomic lab.

Among the key duties of this position are the following;
  • Schedules, follows up, and ensures that completion of research protocols progress as planned both on-site and in collaborative labs.
  • Works with staff both on-site and collaborative lab staff to resolve day-to-day problems.
  • Assists in the execution of new IRB applications and processes annual reviews for the IRB committees with regard to consents.
  • Works with the principal investigator, submits protocols, amendments, notices, suspensions and terminations to the IRB for review and approval.
  • Interacts with volunteer subjects and patients prior to entering the study and throughout the entire protocol.
  • Assesses potential patients’ eligibility for inclusion in a particular protocol based on contracts with physicians and nurses and knowledge of the protocol.
