Job description
About Season
Season Health is the leading food-as-medicine platform that enables people with chronic conditions to eat well and live well. Combining clinical nutrition care, meal recommendations, education, and food delivery into one comprehensive solution, Season aims to help more people see food as a healthy pleasure and create a world well fed. Season is a remote-first company but hosts regular company meetups out of the belief that in-person collaboration is core to building a meaningful company and product and developing lasting relationships.
Season is a Series A stage business backed by Andreessen-Horowitz, LRV Health, 8VC, Bain Capital, Healthy.VC and Grand Central Tech among others. Season recruits, employs, compensates, and promotes regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, gender identity, disability, age, veteran status and other protected status as required by applicable law and as a matter of our company ethics.
About The Role
As our PR & B2B Communications Manager, you will be our first in-house communications leader. You will be responsible for all publicly facing media and communications activities. You’ll report to our VP of Marketing, while working closely with senior management, including our co-founders, to shape and distribute our story. You will be entirely responsible for building the plane, then flying it. Additionally, you will understand how to work hand-in-hand with our business development team to support their pipeline goals through top-of-funnel PR activities.
What You Will Do
- Ensure that Season is a thought leader in the Food as Medicine and related spaces
- Craft stories and pitches and conduct media outreach to garner both national and regional media attention, and stories from trade publications
- Extrapolate data from clinical trials, pilots, and partnerships, and then distill, to strengthen our narrative
- Write and disseminate press releases and media pitches, and collaborate with relevant partners
- Collaborate on organic content and leverage for PR & external communications
- Build and publish organic content, PR and corporate communications in concert with a full channel strategy including, but not limited to blogs, white papers, case studies, emails and social media content
- Stay up to speed on healthcare and food trends and news that may impact Season in order to properly position us constantly as the leading food-as-medicine platform
- Develop talking points, presentation materials and thought leadership platforms for various executive speaking engagements and conferences
- Assist in conference + event planning
- Research potential awards opportunities and create and submit awards applications
About You
- A working knowledge of the healthcare industry; a passion for nutrition/food-as-medicine is a plus but not absolutely necessary
- Scrappy and entrepreneurial, ready to lead, get-the-job-done attitude
- Have 3-5 years of experience in traditional public relations
- Understand how B2B communications support ABM motions
- You have a deep understanding of how to connect and target communications to support a BD/Sales team
- A demonstrated ability to work with reporters, shape a narrative and generally present Season in the best light possible
- An understanding of current content distribution channels and strategies
- Comfortable with setting and achieving numeric goals for content strategy
- Passion for working in an early stage company and building from the ground up every single day
- Comfort with ambiguity, a bias for action and a willingness to roll up your sleeves
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- An overdeveloped sense of ownership
- Highly organized and strong attention to detail
What You Get
- To be part of an awesome team that's developing innovative ways to positive impact lives
- A full time role at a competitive wage (80K-100K DOE)
- Medical, dental and vision benefits provided to you and your dependents at no cost
- Option to participate in 401k plan
- Flexible work arrangements, including unlimited PTO
- An opportunity to use your skills to help improve nutrition and population health at a mission driven company
- A stipend to customize the tools you need to do your best work (get a special monitor, noise cancelling headphones, a sick mechanical keyboard, etc)
- Fun coworkers
- A fully remote environment with paid travel to an in-person meeting about every 12 weeks
