Azure OpenAI Principal Product Managers possess in-depth knowledge of generative artificial intelligence, emerging models, application patterns, and how developers are using these technologies to create groundbreaking experiences. In this fast-paced industry, developing durable developer tools and products with sustained differentiation can be challenging. Azure OpenAI Principal Product Managers leverage their extensive understanding and awareness of the field to pinpoint customer issues, articulate their vision clearly, and lead a team through rapid prototyping, testing, and scaling.

Responsibilities

As an Azure OpenAI Principal Product Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and launching tools and services that empower customers to harness generative models. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Analyzing complex, conflicting information, and prioritizing what's most important
  • Unifying team members around objectives and orchestrating complex projects
  • Making informed product decisions amidst ambiguity and uncertainty
  • Collaborating effectively with engineering, design, legal, and other teams to deliver projects quickly that address customers' needs
  • Demonstrating a hands-on approach and a commitment to ensuring the product and team's success


Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 8+ years experience in product management
    • OR equivalent experience
  • 3+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects
  • 3+ years experience in Machine Learning and/or Artificial Intelligence

Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications:
  • Deep understanding of generative artificial intelligence, emerging models, and application patterns.
  • Knowledge of the developer ecosystem and experience in building developer-facing products or tools is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • The ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Desire to drive product success and continuous improvement.

Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
