Process Engineer | Contract | Winston Salem, NC

Main job objective:

This is a contract position with probability of extension based on success of new products introductions and the individual’s behaviors. As a key member of the Manufacturing Operations team, this position reports to the Operations Manager and will oversee all manufacturing processes, from an engineering and quality and efficiency standpoints.

Success in this role will be accessed based on process efficiency improvements through the identification, investigations, and migration of process waste related to raw materials, finished products, and machine downtime.

Main responsibilities and Key Result Areas:

· Creating and maintaining reports of KPIs in the manufacturing plant at a frequency that supports effective action to ensure efficiency.

· Lead process set up and ensure inter process hand off’s for PPT/PPAP runs to ensure timely and successful PPT/PPAP runs.

· Identifying and leading process improvement initiatives in manufacturing driven by data and effective root cause analysis implementation.

· Driving error proofing solutions in manufacturing as part of the problem-solving process.

· Working collaboratively with the quality and manufacturing team to develop, train and maintain efficient production flow.

· Participating in Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA) and Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (PFMEA).

· Identifying gaps and driving improvement in product changeovers efficiency in all stages of the manufacturing process.

· Evaluating, identifying, and mitigating machine set up opportunities.

· Providing a weekly progress report to the Leadership team with an action plan for upcoming deliverables.

Professional qualifications and knowledge:

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline

· Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience. Textile manufacturing experience is preferred.

· Demonstrated experience with Lean / Six Sigma (Green or Black belt preferred)

· ISO 9001 2015 experience preferred.

· Project Management experience.

· Experience with SAP.

· Microsoft Office proficient (emphasis on Excel)

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Pragmatic and pro-active critical thinking skills.

· Strong data analysis skill. Ability to create and maintain reports and dashboards for key performance indicators.

· Initiative-taker with ability to work independently with an excellent work ethic.
