We are looking for a skilled, resourceful, and collaborative Process Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Denver, CO. The Process Mechanical Engineer will work closely with a team of engineers supporting natural gas, renewable natural gas, and hydrogen projects. This is a fast-paced and dynamic position, with opportunities to be challenged, contribute to project outcomes, interact routinely with project Principals, and grow professionally.

Essential Functions-What You Will Do

  • Support design and documentation of projects in the Natural Gas Sector; focusing on metering, regulation, liquefied natural gas, renewable natural gas and compressed natural gas facilities.
  • Prepare process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Support hazard identification (HAZID), process hazard analysis (PHA), and hazard and operability (HAZOP) studies as part of the design process.
  • Perform line sizing, wall thickness, and flexibility/pipe stress calculations.
  • Perform process equipment (e.g., heat exchangers, boilers, pumps) sizing.
  • Perform valve and mechanical component sizing, including relief valves.
  • Prepare written specifications for equipment and materials.
  • Perform system evaluations/design using process simulation software.
  • Prepare written reports documenting analyses, designs, and assessments.
  • Prepare plant documentation, such as operating & maintenance procedures, purging procedures, as-built drawings, and risk management plans.
  • Prepare training documents and conduct training sessions to support client’s operations and maintenance needs.
  • Perform site visits to utility and industrial client facilities to review existing process piping and equipment layouts.
  • Perform site visits to support operations and commissioning activities.
  • Mentor junior staff to develop their technical skills and instill good consulting practices to support their growth in the firm.

Competencies-What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum of six (6) to ten (10) years relevant experience and a BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (Energy Focus).
  • Possess or be working toward Professional Engineering Registration/Licensure.
  • Experience with natural gas and liquefied natural gas.
  • Experience with risk management and process safety.
  • Solid understanding of Process Design.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills combined with the flexibility to work with shifting priorities.
  • Client-service orientation with the ability to anticipate needs and deliver to meet expectations.
  • Experience with operations and commissioning processes and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Work well as a team member, with a collaborative communication style.

Position Type-What You Should Know

  • Full-time position.
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday with flexible daily hours. Hybrid option. Remote considered for the right candidate.
  • Located in Denver, CO.

Pay

  • Salary range for this position is $91,549k to $119,893k/year and is commensurate with experience.

Supplemental Pay

  • Annual bonus is based on individual and company performance.
