Position Summary Provides technical and set-up support for molding operation Responsibilities

1. Perform tool change-overs when jobs are completed

2. 2 Review production reports issued by scheduling to ensure machines are set-up with proper tools.

3. 3. Reviews documentation for job and correctly sets machines; ensures all safety features are in place and functioning properly

4. .4. Cleans machines prior to production run start-up and at the end of production runs; cleans molds and properly lubricates.

5. 5. Analyzes and troubleshoots machinery, making the necessary process adjustments to consistently produce parts that meet the company’s quality standards.

6. 6. Start up and inspect first piece samples.

7. 7. Support continuous improvement initiatives through LEAN and HPT.

8. 8. Proactively contribute to the success of the molding department by ensuring quality standards, production schedules, and established standards are met.

9. 9. Answer machine alarms in a timely and effective way. Maintain logbooks and update set up sheets as required.

10. 10. Monitor assigned production area to ensure effective and efficient operations thereby facilitating continuous improvement. Includes, but not limited to: Performing machine by machine audits to insure standard operating procedures are being followed; Support and reinforcement of plant-wide improvement initiatives; Gathering and monitoring and publishing quality control, downtime and production efficiency in an accurate and timely way; Ensuring the timely maintenance of production and machine logbooks;

11. Confers with production personnel to resolve problems affecting production schedules.

12. Ensures that machine setting variations are recorded and proper according to the set-up sheet.

13. Troubleshoot quality problems such as splay, flash, heat sinks, short shots.

14. Make adjustments to auxiliary equipment as needed.

15.Purge machine with proper purging compounds as needed.

16. Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency.

17. Preventative Maintenance activities as required.

18. Assist with housekeeping, and maintaining safety standards.

19. Communicates any problems to the Maintenance Department and Shift leader for maintenance related problems.

20. Effectively train less experienced (or prospective) technicians in all areas above.

21. Other duties and projects as required

Qualifications Education and Experience: 1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 2. Must have experience equivalent to at least 2 years of processing and/or mold set up in the plastic injection molding industry or six to twelve months related experience as a Material Handler, Material Coordinator, and/or PQT.

3. Effective problem solving skills.

4. Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work independently

.5. Flexibility with shift schedule, ability to work overtime and weekends as needed

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour

Experience:

• Automotive manufacturing: 2 years (Required)
• Plastics injection molding: 5 years (Required)
• Quality control: 2 years (Required)
• ITF auditing: 1 year (Preferred)

Shift availability:

• Overnight Shift (Required)
