Processing Machine Operator - Memphis, TN

This role involves receiving rough rice into the Processing department for cleaning, cooking, drying and distribution to multiple departments. The Processing department is an extremely hot, dusty and loud environment and employees working in this department are required to operate large industrial manufacturing rice cookers, drying tunnels and bucket conveyor equipment.

Competencies:

• Machine operators must have at least 2 years' hands-on experience working on a manufacturing floor in a high speed production operation
• These are all required:
• Work 12 hour shifts, will typically begin on night shift (4 pm – 4 am)
• Week 1 - will work 4 days; Week 2 - will work 3 days then repeat same hours
• Work OT as required
• Learn quickly, proactive in efforts to maximize production & prevent downtime
• Work well with others in a team environment with frequent, effective, and quick communication
• Troubleshoot and operate manufacturing equipment to identify root causes of problems
• Pay close attention to detail and alerts supervision if numbers fall outside expected quality ranges
• Constantly maintain a clean and safe environment
• Take an active role in the department, to include provide/receive training, critical problem solving
• Arrive for work on time for the start of the shifts
• Follow safety rules and operational procedures

Process & Equipment:

• Sets up, operates, monitors, regulates and adjusts equipments to meet shift product requirements
• Troubleshoots equipment and product quality issues
• Conveys shift information and knowledge regarding daily production, process and/or equipment performance to maintenance, Q.C. and operator co-workers and supervisors

Product & Quality:
•

• Assures availability of required materials and supplies
• Monitors equipment settings and makes required adjustments to product specifications
• Continually monitors all KPI's
• Perform routine quality checks and adjusts to meet set specifications
• Creates clear, accurate and timely documentation

Compliance:
•

• Keeps work areas organized and sanitary according to set standards
• Follows standard operating processes and procedures
• Adheres to GMP's, HACCP, OSHA and company policies and procedures
• Responsible for own personal safety and safety of others in working area
