Job description
Basic Function: Provide excellent customer service by filling the shelf with incoming stock and back stock, keeping clean the Produce Department, and responding to customers questions and needs in a professional, friendly, and timely manner.
Examples Of Work Performed:
(Work responsibilities may vary, depending on assignment)
- Keeps the produce cases full
- Make sure that produce cases are clean and neat
- Provides excellent customer service
- Prepares produce for display
- Keeps the work station clean
- Looks for and remove defective produce
- Assists on stocking days
- Makes bags of ice and fill the ice machine
- Any other responsibilities assigned by manager
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility:

Work Environment:
Work will take place in areas that are cooler than room temperature. Standing for long periods of time and moving objects 0 50 lbs. may be required.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required At Entry:
- Basic knife skills
- Knowledge of the different types of produce
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to read a weight measuring scale
- Ability to use the wrapping machine
- Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required For Full-Performance:
- Requires the ability to independently perform all of the duties of the position efficiently and effectively.
- Knowledge of record keeping of ordering.
- Knowledge of how to make produce baskets
