Alert Innovation, now powered by Walmart, is a fast-growing venture on a mission to reinvent retailing through robotics. We've partnered with Walmart to develop our Alphabot® technology, which is currently being deployed at stores throughout North America.

The Product and Safety Compliance Lead is responsible for leading Alphabot functional safety-related activities to influence the design and development of Alphabot and Alphabot system components. You will provide expertise through technical knowledge, collaboration skills, and functional safety experience to support Alphabot system teams in developing and documenting safety system designs. You will utilize industry-recognized methods to assess hazards, risk, and performance levels for industrial machinery safety systems.
WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON:

• Guide, coach, and support implementation of functional safety across all phases of a project.
• Create technical specifications for functional safety.
• Coordinate, evaluate, and implement product-specific hazard and risk analyses in the area of functional safety, considering existing international standards.
• Monitor project-specific developments of safety concepts at system, hardware, and software level using applicable standards.
• Interface with internal and external compliance groups and global colleagues to stay current on industry standards.
• Perform safety FMEA/Risk assessments.
• Provide proper engineering documents as requested. Assist in identifying tools used in compliance documentation. Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

• Experience with product safety standards and regulations such as NFPA, ANSI, NIOSH, EN, CSA or similar.
• Knowledgeable in a wide range of device designs, technologies, and human-machine interfaces.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for internal and external consumption.
• Strong documentation skills and practices.
• Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations.
• Ability to operate independently in a matrix organization and navigate complex business systems.
• Functional Safety Training a plus.
• TUV certification, ISO certification a plus.
• Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering related discipline, Master's Degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience driving product safety and compliance in complex systems.

Pay: $132,660.00 - $162,140.00 per year
