Job description

Primary Objective: Oversee production of our rental fleet equipment and provide engineering support for sales and aftermarket. Reports to Director of Engineering.

Safety

  • Maintain safety awareness and compliance at all times.
  • Ensure equipment designs meet all federal OSHA standards.


Quality

  • Ensure all equipment meets Powerhouse quality design and standards.
  • Ensure all final drawings and BOMs are accurate and updated.
  • Participate in ASME/NBIC Quality Program as Engineer to provide drawings, BOM, and other required documentation.
  • Review Quality Reports for trends in problem areas of production.


Production

  • Create complete build package and provide to Shop Manager ahead of production schedule to facilitate proper planning and material procurement.
  • Complete weekly written report to the Director of Engineering detailing current status on current build progress.
  • Track time and path of each process in build to implement lean processes throughout.
  • Ensure all assigned rental units have a full set of drawings, BOM, spec sheets, and manuals once complete.


Additional Tasks

Product Engineer responsibilities may include, but not limited to the following:

  • Participate in EDI functions to give feedback on future designs, review warranty claims, discuss service items, and submit drawings for approval.
  • Answer questions from other departments on rental equipment’s technical capabilities.
  • Conduct periodic review of production processes and implement best practices to increase production throughput.


Requirements

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, or similar engineering discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in piping design, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and mechanical systems (preferring boilers and other pressure vessels)
  • Familiarity with ASME BPVC and NBIC
  • Proficient in Autodesk products, especially Inventor (or similar 3D CAD system)
  • Familiarity with lean concepts and implementation strategies (certification preferred)
